McDonald’s has continued the stream of augmented reality marketing projects centered around James Cameron’s Avatar with “Experience Pandora,” a website devoted to the movie. After watching the intro movie and muting the lovely jungle sound effects, users can play three unique augmented reality games set in different environments from the movie, with bonus features upon completion of all content.
When you visit McDonald’s and order a sandwich, the box acts as your call to action to the website and allows one to interact with the augmented reality games. If you don’t have the boxes handy, the augmented reality trackers can be printed from the site as well.
Previous Avatar/AR experiences include Mattel’s AR Toys and Coke Zero’s AVTR.
